The Queensland Government offers help and information for communities affected by major disasters such as flooding, severe storms and fires.

Monsoonal flooding and tropical cyclones – January to April 2010
During the first half of 2010 Queensland experienced a number of extreme weather events including widespread monsoonal flooding and Tropical Cyclones Olga, Neville, Ului and Paul. The impacts from these events resulted in widespread damage across many communities.
The Queensland Government assisted people in Charleville, Roma, St. George and surrounding communities in South West Queensland; Burketown in North West Queensland, and Mackay and the Whitsunday area in North Queensland.
All applications for individual assistance are now closed. If you have any queries about your outstanding application for assistance please contact your Regional Service Centre (external site).
Applications for assistance under the Special Flood Disaster Assistance Scheme for primary producers and small business may still be made to the Queensland Rural Adjustment Authority (QRAA).
Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal – March 2010
The Red Cross is administering the disbursement of funds provided through the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal to assist families in North and South West Queensland who were affected by flooding and Cyclone Ului.

Assistance to Samoa, Tonga and Sumatra - October 2009
In October 2009, the Queensland and federal governments provided help to Samoa, Tonga and the Indonesian Island of Sumatra after a series of earthquakes and a tsunami.
