Minister for Disability Services and Multicultural Affairs Annastacia Palaszczuk opened the 18th annual Bundaberg Multicultural Festival held at the Riverside Parklands in Quay Street. Peace and Harmony was the theme of the popular festival organised by the Bundaberg Sunrise Rotary Club.

Dean Hazelwood from Sustainabundy.org presented Minster for Sustainability and Climate Change Kate Jones with a “repurposed” shirt to highlight his work in promoting reduced consumption and local sourcing of daily needs.

Following Community Cabinet, Premier Anna Bligh and Minister for Sustainability and Climate Change Kate Jones announced that numbers of endangered loggerhead turtles nesting in eastern Australia are on the rise. This is thanks to the Queensland Government’s world-leading habitat protection program and support from local environmental heroes.
